  1. I liked the reading selection you chose. I didn't know that he had so many different job titles before becoming a writer.

  2. I thought that you did very well on your presentation. I didn't know anything about him. I was surprised that he had so many jobs that seemed so different. I liked how you added enthusiasm to your piece. I would have liked to know more about his personal life. I think I will read more about him and his works. The piece you read in class seemed very interesting. I like the language that he uses. I loved the accent that you added when you were reading the piece. Good Job!!

  3. I thought you did a really nice job on your presentation, especially with his life; I had no idea he was a poet as well as a politician before he was a novelist. I would have liked to know more about his focuses as a writer -- you know how every writer has their own style and subjects? I would have liked to know more about that. It's interesting how the South still comes through his writing, even though he doesn't write the accents. (Which is good. Accents can be hard to read.) I can't believe I haven't read anything by him yet. I definitely need to!

  4. I thought you did a good job on this presentation. I liked his backstory and all the different jobs he had before he became a writer. I have read "As I Lay Dying" and it was nice to see how his personal life played into themes in that book. I wanted to know more about what made his writing so great? What is it about him that puts him above others? I'm not sure yet if I will read anything else by him but I liked seeing how much you enjoy his work!

  5. I may or may not have heard of William Faulkner before this class, but it was interesting to hear about his different job titles he had before becoming a writer. I also liked how his mom and grandma helped shape him into the type of writer he was and how that experience enhanced his writing. The excerpt you handed out was cool and I loved how well you delivered it. I haven't read the rest of the story, but once I get a minute to, I definitely will. :)

  8. I had a Barista once that explained Faulkner to me as someone who writes whatever comes to their mind. I think your presentation reflected this! I would love to explore him more. I also that it was interesting how many jobs he had. He sounds like a very versatile and rounded character!

  9. I'm not really familiar with William Faulkner honestly but I feel like he was a really good writer. I like that he won the Nobel Prize in 1949. That says a lot and I'm excited to go watch his speech since it was one of the best! I wish there was more background information about him but overall I'm excited to learn more about this author.

  10. Anthony was very engaging. Good presentation, I think that he should be less dramatic and more focused on a professional presentation. It felt like you were reading Shakespeare rather than telling us about Faulkner.
